Catch up . . .

Things are crazy around here with church, school, and family responsibilities. All 5 of us are wrapping up our semesters. Jared's finals are next week and mine is in 2 weeks. We enjoyed our trip to Utah in the beginning of November and even enjoyed a tiny family trip. We stayed the first night at Bryce Canyon in a hotel that has been there for over 90 years. Thursday morning we headed over to the canyon. All the boys were fine and really excited and then Maxwell started freaking out. He was bawling and saying it was dangerous. He wouldn't let go of me for a while so I was walking and carrying my hefty four-year-old. The rock formations are called Hoo-Doos. Elijah saw what he envisioned was a cowboy hoo-doo and he drew a picture of it on the drive to Provo. Jared told the boys to draw pix of Bryce Canyon during the drive to Provo. Maxwell drew a picture of Uncle Bryce. On the way home we stopped at Hoover Dam which is an amazing piece of Americana. The kids got to pick post cards at each of the National Parks. They all really wanted the map of Arizona. The kids are so well behaved on road trips that we are even planning on going to California during Winter Break.

We spent Thanksgiving with the Baileys which was a lot of fun. I have nightmares just thinking about doing Thanksgiving dinner on my own now that my kids are old enough to have expectations. On the ride home I asked the kids what they were most thankful for and Maxwell said, "Mom!" He knows how to make my heart melt.

That's it for today.
