Future Missionary

My children are so different from Jared and I. Xander is already planning 13 years into the future. For about 6 months he has been saving up for this $30 shark LEGO set. He really likes it and talks about it regularly. He won't waste any money on anything. With his birthday he finally managed to save up enough money to make the purchase. Today, after picking him up from school I offered to take him to Toys R Us so he could make the purchase. He said no he wanted to wait a bit. I thought he was thinking about all the new stuff he has now and all the new stuff he will get in less than two weeks. I asked if he wanted to wait until a little while after Christmas because he now had enough money to buy the LEGO set and he currently had plenty of new and exciting things. He declined saying he is saving up for his mission.

Xander woke up nearly jumping out of his skin on his birthday. He was hopping everywhere and completely unable to hold still. He showed genuine excitement and gratitude for each gift and made sure to read every single word of each card.

Xander has ended things with his first fiance and is on to his second fiance, Angela. Angela made Xander a birthday cake picture that said I love you and Happy Birthday with six candles on it. When Xander informed Angela they were going to get married she responded with an okay.
