Happy Birthday Schwes!

Today is my sister's birthday! Unfortunately the few digital pix I have of her she is hiding. (I totally understand as I have a hard time letting people take my picture too.) I don't get to see her often because she lives in Seattle which is more than 24 hours of driving away. I love her so much. I also look up to her. (She is over 5'11''.) I look up to her in many other ways as well. She is definitely the most generous person I have ever known and probably ever will know. She would easily part with her last morsel of food, her last oil and flour, the only shirt on her back for anyone. She wouldn't even think once about it. She always wants to share any of her most recent discoveries with everyone she loves(which I believe to be everyone she meets). Last time I saw her was for my Grandma's funeral. A sad time but it was great to see my sister and her beautiful baby girl Felicity and to share a hotel room with them. Cameron stopped at a store on the way from Cedar City to Utah County to purchase an awesome CD for me. It really made the long drive home a billion times more pleasant as I had already grown tired of the other children's CDs in my collection. This is only one minor example of her generous heart. I loved living with her for a month in Fresno when she was pregnant with Jonah and eating all of that steak. Oh how she craved steak. We would talk and giggle and generally have fun. My sister Cameron is a survivor. She does what needs to be done even when it is hard, even when it is seemingly impossible. Cameron is a wonderful mother to her children and a nurturer to all who come in her path. This picture is from a visit I made to Virginia when Cameron lived there. We got to drive North to pick up Carey and kids in Troy, NY and to see Ash and kids in Buffalo. It was the only time in my adult life that I have seen all 4 of my sisters within days of each other. Cameron drove us and took care of me. I also witnessed Cameron throwing a baby shower for a dear friend. If Cameron does something she strives to do it excellently. This was a most excellent baby shower. Cameron is a believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and tries to live, exemplify and be how a true believer should be at all times, all places, and in every situation. Cameron was having a hard time with her 30th birthday. I felt it wholly appropriate that it fell on the Day of National Prayer and Mourning and had fondness in my heart for her when I reached my own 30 year milestone. I love you Cameron! I always enjoyed sharing a 2 birthday cake week with you. I guess I enjoyed that part of the birthday year so much that I had to have a son that I could share a 2 birthday cake week with. I guess when he grows up and moves out I will have to get a dog, fish or something that shares my birthday week so I can keep the tradition alive. Have a Super Happy Happy Birthday! Live grateful! No matter how many birthdays come, and how much older we get, it is a billion times better than the alternative. Virgos Rock!
