A perfectly planned day . . .

Seriously. I made a crock pot dinner this morning knowing it would be ready on time and then Max and I left at 11:45 only to return 4 hours later to find the power had turned off while we were gone meaning my electric crockpot had been off for at least 2 hours ( the time from the flashing clock as to when the power had been returned). How frustrating is that?! We get to find out what a half cooked and then cooked again pot roast tastes like. Also within 1 mile of our house there are at least 4 polling places. 2 other polling places are at Maxwell's school. I passed around 10 polling places today. Jared and I voted early and I thought that meant we would be able to avoid polling places but not so for me. After dropping Maxwell off at school I was handed a free 6 inch sub coupon for voting. What other country in the world do they bribe citizens to vote with free subs, coffee, ice cream and various other things. Do I really want the type of people who need to be bribed to vote to vote? Not so much. It is like paying your kids for the grades you expect them to get or rewarding them for behaving in the way you expect them to. Meeting or exceeding expectations should be its own reward for adults and kids.

AMEN Sister!
