It's my anniversary!

Yea for 11 years. I have always found it laughable when couples who have been together for less than a year are asked for advice about making it work. In 11 years of marriage I think I have little advice about making it work. The only things I can think of off the top of my head is both people have to be 200% committed to staying married and it helps if both people choose for themselves to be happy. But advice is not the purpose of this blog entry.

Our bird, Comet, went crazy after owning him for a week. Psychotic and mean! Jared thought maybe the smell of dog did it. (He has this bad habit of petting any dogs we may run into when we are out and about and not washing his hands or changing his clothes. Apparently the smell of large predators can be disturbing to small birds and may even cause stress. At the time we purchased Comet we were debating whether to get 1 or 2 birds. Well after psycho bird weekend we opted to get a 2nd bird. Her name is Angel. She is braver than Comet, but she bites harder even without the twisting. Did I mention Comet started twisting with his bites? Good thing Jared and I have gloves and a determination to tame these birds. Comet seems way less stressed out so the idea seems to be working out. They are cute together. When we first put Angel in the cage they got real close to each other, beaks touching. Elijah yelled out "Kiss Cam!" And that would be the first point of this blog entry.

I learned a lesson about not saying anything in front of your kids (especially Xander) that you wouldn't want repeating. Fortunately it was nothing embarrassing. Although who knows maybe the embarrassing stuff never gets back to you. We have talked a little about possibly moving at the end of April when our lease is up. We would love to get back into Ahwatukee or move a bit further East. The further east you go, the more families with young children there are. I think moving this year is a bit of a pipe dream but then again you never really know until you are offered a lease or you choose to resign the lease. So Xander told his classmate at church, who told his mom, who told the Primary President, who then emailed me in a bit of a panic. She has had quite the roller coaster presidency with several counselor and secretary changes so I understand the stress.

I love my Jared! Happy Anniversary Sweetie!

Can't believe it's been 11 years

I really can't believe it's been 11 years! I love your boys just from looking at their pictures (and also because I love their parents) and will be a regular visitor from now on. I had never really gotten into visiting blogs other than Tiff's, but I've recently ventured into the world of blogging and find that I am hooked on skimming through the blogs of those dear to me. Love to all of you, from your Alien visiting Anderson, Aunt Annette
