Temple Visitor's Center

Temple Visitor's Center

Jared did not want to sit and relax at home for the entire 2 weeks off of work. He wanted to do something special. Well, it was the last day of the International Nativity Exhibit at the Mesa Temple Visitor's Center and I had promised Xander I would take him before it closed. He picked going to the temple lights and visitor's center for his birthday family activity but with sickness, Christmas, and Stes and Bryce visiting we ran out of time. We did the lights portion of of activity on December 23rd with the Bailey family. We went into the visitor's center after the Bailey's left but it was too packed to go in. Xander was upset when Dad and I said, "Time to go." So I promised to take him back before the end of the year. So on December 31st in the afternoon we made our way to the visitor's center. I was not expecting how thoroughly Xander examined every single exhibit and besides we have a really small visitor's center. I was surprised but Jared was not. Elijah really liked the collection of Books of Mormon in different languages and decided he was going to have a collection like that. After looking at every single thing 20 times and for 10 minutes we finally made it outside with the bribe of the cactus garden on the grounds there. I also had to promise that Xander, Elijah, and I could return to watch the Joseph Smith movie. They liked seeing the petrified log on the grounds and so I made another vow that we would go to the Petrified Forest one day. I can't leave anywhere without promising 10 different spin-off activities it seems.
