Jared and ET at Papago Park

Jared and ET at Papago Park

On New Year's Eve we spent the day on the Temple grounds and in the visiting center. (actually just the afternoon) We followed that up with a trip to Papago Park where we completed the treacherous and difficult Hole-In-The Rock hike.

Okay maybe not so treacherous or even difficult and really more of a nature stroll since there are stairs the whole way up there and it is quite short but this pic makes it look treacherous and difficult.

Hole-In-The-Rock Trail
Length: Very short, about 1/10 of a mile.
Elevation gain: about 200 feet
Difficulty: easy

I think they should have rated the difficulty as SUPER easy or so easy a baby could do it. It was cool though to actually go up there. It is one of those sights you see from the zoo and Jared and I always talked about visiting it. It really is gorgeous and you can see the whole city from there. Apparently the Hohokum used the natural rock formations here to mark the Winter and Summer solstices and to track seasons.

We are quite adventurous.
