First Day of School

Each of the boys are telling me about their first days of school and I am typing for them in the third person.

Xander's first day of school was awesome! First, he got to meet new people. He met Robert and Phineus. His friend from Kindergarten who moved away, Jericho, was in his class today. Then he got to go to recess. He did "freeze dance". He likes his teachers. He has a new teacher, Mrs. LaFevre. He learned about the beach today and that is what they are doing for summative. His teachers gave him a pen and some stickers. He got a note that said "Show and Tell tomorrow." and that's all.

Maxwell's first day of school was awesome! Morning Meeting was first and it was about the classroom and they did a math game. Later he got to eat a snack. He picked a Nutri-Grain bar out of his lunch box. Then there was another meeting. Later he did "centers". There were math and library centers. He only did the math center. He played with a clock. During recess they walked around on the sidewalks. They played a friend game. You ask, "What's your name and your favorite animal?" Maxwell's favorite animal is a turtle. He met a friend named Jack whose favorite animal was a tiger. He was excited to have a boy named Max in his class and was disappointed that he didn't meet him during the friendship game.

My aside: No other kids have glasses in his class so one of the first things I heard from him was "You're wrong! No one else had glasses." I was telling him how maybe there would be other kids in his class with glasses, or who liked Star Wars and video games. Another thing that was funny was how he needed to "follow the rules" and show me the paper his teachers gave to him to give to me. He got pretty upset when he thought it was lost.

Elijah will type his up himself.
