Feeling Gratefully Overwhelmed

So I haven't left a blog entry in awhile. The laptop I am using during the day has a crash record so I don't trust it enough to compose an entry and risk losing it to a crash. Also, Jared's netbook has a super tiny keyboard (which I am using now) that makes me a slow typer.

We have been in the house for over a week now. Jared and I are sleeping on an air mattress and the boys are sleeping in sleeping bags. This will change by the end of this next week. We originally wanted to finish painting before moving our stuff in, but we need a better fridge and painting takes way more time than I thought. We got our first coats of primer on the orange entryway. I finally finished scrubbing out the two bathrooms and the kitchen completely. Those things took forever.

I still need to clean out the closets, but at least I am able to start unpacking the kitchen stuff now. Jared brought the washing machine and dryer over one at a time in the Suzuki. The washer had a broken lid switch so I spent a day working on trying to fix that without buying parts and then went and bought a new lid switch for $30 and it was fixed. After that I started my first load of laundry but a part of the heating wiring got bumped out of place with the move. I needed Jared to fix that since I tried one of the last times we moved and was not able to fix it. Thursday night after 10 pm Jared fixed the dryer. I then started another load of laundry which I got into the driver after midnight so that the boys and Jared would have enough clothes for Friday.

Thursday was fun. Our Realtor offered us 5 tickets to the Coyotes game. It was awesome. The Coyotes scored 2 goals in the last 30 seconds of the game. The boys really enjoyed it and Jared enjoyed the first and third periods. We were thinking at the beginning of the season that we would like to try to go to a game or two a year. Hockey and baseball are the 2 sports here that are affordable for a family of 5 to go to. With the free tickets we were even able to sit on the lower level 19 rows behind the goal. I warned the boys that there would be fighting before we got there and sure enough an 8 man fight broke out right in front of us. The Coyote fans are way more spirited than the refined D-back fans so that added to the fun as well.

I get stressed out because whenever I am home I am worrying about the zillion things I need to get done. The hockey game was a great reprieve.

Our new ward seems really nice. The Relief Society President and First Counselor came by already. The boys are lucky to have larger Primary classes than we did in the old wards. I really like the neighborhood and I really love my house even though it is way overwhelming.

During our month of homelessness we were able to go to Utah, Idaho, and Lake Patagonia. We went canoing. I got freaked out during the canoing when I realized I wasn't strong enough to fight the current once we got out of the bay. Jared and I had to ride in separate canoes because they have a max limit of 4 people per. After some struggle Jared and I were able to co-row the 2 boats back into the bay. We had tied ourselves together. Jared then took each of the boys out upstream while I stayed in the bay.

Staying with the Baileys turned out to be a fun experience. Since we live so close we don't ever get to go do the "visits" that out-of-towners get to enjoy. All the kids were really good sports. I had a lot of fun spending extra time with Lucy and Brigham. Brigham loves car washes and is always asking anyone with a car whether or not they need to go to the car wash. Lucy said Sara at least once. Brigham learned how to ride a two-wheeler while we were there. Brigham is only a few months over 3. Brigham likes to hide stuff around the house. The first night we were there he hid Xander's shoes. Jared and I had to search for Xander's shoes before school the first morning.
