The fam

So as Jared tweeted, Maxwell has his first loose tooth. When I told Jared he responded that he already knew because Max told him. I wondered first why he didn't think that would be important to share with me and second, why he didn't explain things to Maxwell because Max didn't even know.

Max told me his tooth hurt. I was worried it was a cavity so I asked him to open up and show me. He said he bumped it on something. I asked him on what and when and he didn't know. He was just trying to come up with an explanation why it hurt. I looked in his mouth and wiggled the tooth he said hurt and it was loose. I told him that he didn't hurt his mouth on anything, his tooth was just loose and it was supposed to be. I, then being the considerate co-parent that I am, excitedly told him to go show Dad and let him know that he had his first loose tooth. I know 6 yrs 7 months is a little old for losing your first tooth, but my teeth were the same way.

Xander lost a tooth a few weeks ago and kept informing us that the tooth fairy wasn't coming. We told him to wait until he was in his own bed in a normal room. In the move from one room to the other his tooth in a baggie went missing.

Last week I got to go on the zoo field trip with Maxwell. I was responsible for him and 2 others - Pradiyum, his best friend, and Victoria. We had a lot of fun. I always love going to the zoo. We got to see the new Komodo dragons and cheetahs. It was also the first day they had the 1 year old twin giraffes on display. It was Daisy's first time to be left so long since we have had her. We put her in the back-yard since it is still cool enough and we thought that would be better than the crate. She was so hyper and clingy when I got home. She jumped on me and licked me for 20 minutes and then fell asleep at my feet.

In the next few weeks I get to go bowling with Xander's and Elijah's classes. Elijah doesn't remember me ever going on field trips with him, but actually I have gone on quite a few.

Elijah is really enjoying having a next door neighbor his same age to be friends with. Every day he is on the look-out for Quin to be outside or asking me if he can go ask him to play. Hopefully the boys will be able to meet lots of neighborhood kids. We really like our next-door neighbors. They gave us a welcome mat and their phone number when we moved in in case of emergency.

Friday night we left Daisy in the backyard and headed to a welcome to the ward thing for all the recent move-ins and ward leadership. I hate those sorts of things but thought it was important to go since we plan on being in this ward forever and my calling limits how many people I meet. We really enjoyed conversing with different people there. When we got home we found Daisy missing. We were worried, and after yelling for her and getting ready to walk around looking for her Jared or one of the boys noticed a note on our door. It was really cute:

"Dear Mr. Jared daisy Got out of your house and we have her at are house knock if you see this letter PS. From Quin and Jill."

Really sweet. Luckily when Daisy escaped, Jill (the mom) and Quin were outside and saw her. Jill tried to put her back in the yard, but Daisy kept escaping. Daisy ran down the road a ways but came back when Quin called her. They kindly kept her inside their house until we came and got her. Jared had accidentally left one of the gates open that lets Daisy get into an area we know she can escape from. Now we know to be more careful. I can't wait until she gets her tags in case she ever gets out again. She is microchipped, but that takes her going to the pound and us having to pay to get her back.

Jared got called to be the Webelo's assistant. Elijah can't wait to move up. My class went horribly a few weeks ago but it has gone better the last two weeks. I have an assistant now which really improves my ability to have clear consequences with follow through. I really am happy to be in Primary. I just need to help these kids learn to behave.

I am so glad that Jill and

I am so glad that Jill and Quin found Daisy. It is a dangerous world for a dog on the streets. Yesterday a small dog (about the size of Gracie) ran into Sams. They tried to get her but she ran back into the parking lot. He was so scared. I tried to call him to come to me hoping I could get him into the car and take him to the pound where he would be safe but alas, I was unable to get him. It is such a busy shopping area and very dangerous for a dog. I hope he didn't get hit.

Our trainer in Saint Louis told us that it is best for dogs to be crated when you leave home. He said it gives them more of a sense of security and they cannot get into trouble. It apparently is actually better for the dog than to be loose in a yard or house. Mr. Walton was a wonderful trainer. I sure enjoyed working with Katie Dog and Alyssa with him.

Congratulations to Jared on the Weblos calling. I think it would be so much fun to work with the boys. For some reason they never think of me when they call den mothers and scout people. Maybe my aversion to camping is protecting me :D

I sure love you Sara! AND I LOVE THE TWEETS Jared!!

Sara,

I really enjoyed your blogs. Sounds like your neighbors are as nice as your home. It is fun to be in a home you actually own with neighbors who are nice. Give your family a kiss for me.
