Happy Birthday Elijah and Alyssa!

10 years and 24 hours ago my water broke.

10 years and 1 day ago my sister was praying I wouldn't have the baby until the 17th for her birthday.

10 years and 24-16 hours ago I was cursing my sister who prayed I wouldn't have a baby until the 17th. It meant an extended labor and delivery for me.

10 years ago at 7:02 am MDT my first child was born. More like yanked out of me after the threatened c-section and I said no. I told them if they wanted to do a c-section they should have done it several hours prior and one or two codes before. They told me if they didn't get the baby out on this push that it would be a c-section whether I wanted one or not.

10 years 24 hours ago - 10 years ago was my most eventful labor and delivery experience.

It was totally worth it and I am grateful every day that Elijah was born safe and sound, intact, in perfect health and with an amazing mind. God gave up one of his sweetest angels that day.

25 years ago (and I have no idea the time although it was Central Daylight Time) my youngest sister was born. It was very exciting since I was just a baby when my other little sister was born.

I enjoyed taking care of her and was very protective of her. And even if it meant extended labor for me, I am grateful Elijah gets to share his birthday with such a wonderful Aunt.

Alyssa is awesome. I enjoy living vicariously through her. She speaks German, Portuguese, and English. She has lived in Germany and Portugal. She is going to graduate college this year. And she got engaged this morning at sunrise to her sweetie Steve.

My life would be incomplete without Alyssa. My life would be incomplete without Elijah.
