Summer Fun

The boys and I went to the Phoenix Art Museum two weeks ago. This was the second time for Maxwell and I and the first time for Xander and Elijah. Xander and Elijah were pleasantly surprised. Awhile ago I took them to the Mesa Contemporary Arts Center. Contemporary art is a bit weird. Maxwell loves art and thinks his brothers are crazy for not wanting to go to the art museum. They all really like Monet and there were several pieces they each really liked. We were running late for Maxwell's eye appointment. Maxwell can now see 20/20 with his glasses so his doctor switched him to his maximum prescription that was too strong for him 1 1/2 years ago.

If I am repeating myself, just bare with me.

We then hit up Del Taco for a late lunch since we were starving. Maxwell picked out really green glasses at Eye Masters. We have to go back there today since one of his lenses had a defect and they had to special order new lenses for him. Xander sees the eye doctor on Monday and can't wait to get new glasses. It is killing him that Jared won't let him get the same frames as Maxwell. Maxwell tries every day to wear as much green as possible to "match" his glasses. It is his current favorite color.

I took the kids to their dentist appointments yesterday. None of them had any cavities. Maxwell proved to be the best and most thorough at oral hygiene. Xander and Elijah both need to do better. Jared and I already knew that and often have to send X & E to brush again and again until they get it right.

Jared spent the work week at Scottsdale Community College. We ended up having to drive him all three days but it wasn't as bad as I thought. It is right off of the freeway. I told the kids how Grandpa Jensen played a baseball game there many years ago. They thought that was neat. The parking lot there is crazy. I don't think they could have messed it up more if they tried.

The boys have already been swimming this morning. It is now 9 am. Hopefully Elijah and Xander will get haircuts today from Jared and I will rebuzz Maxwell's head. Jared is running a bit ragged these days. He is working hard at his regular job plus two contracts and scouting. Fortunately he is the assistant. Elijah was happy to join his den. I think I am going to like Webelos way better than previous Scouts. We also plan on swimming after 3 pm sometime.

We gave in and bought an automatic pool sweep. With the windstorms pool maintenance was driving me crazy. Jared now admires how clean the pool is several times a day, I am just glad it doesn't take 30 minutes or more to get the pool ready every time we want to go swimming.
